Computer “bug” devastates futuristic ‘hyper-diary’

[Plate 1: A photograph of the Cyber Brain which ‘serves’ “Dysphoria Net”]
We can only apologise for the recent ‘down time’ of well-regarded ‘hypertext journal’ Dysphoria Net. Although a team of white-coated futurists tends the complex cyber-machinary behind it around the clock— replacing worn-out valves; keeping the inputs well-supplied with punch-tape; and watching the video output devices for any signs of trouble— it seems that disaster descended from the most unlikely of quarters:

It appears that a small insect (or ‘bug’ as the boffins affectionally refer to the little critters), had become enmeshed in the delicate core memory of the Central Processing Unit!

Well, a timely reminder, perhaps, of Man’s hubris in building a Computation Device rivaling the Human Brain itself. In any case, the core files were replaced in a matter of days, and Dysphoria Net is back again in tip-top form.

You may look forward soon to more of our famously witty and irreverant dispatches, once more delivered over this New Electonic Wonder-Medium!

    Dear Boffin,
I was extremely upset at the lack of activity and service received over the past couple of weeks. My MP has been fully informed of the scale of the impact this has had on my mental well being.
I hope that in the future you run a cleaner futuristic hyper-tech space… sans little insects. ‘Bug’ indeed! Bah! Whatever will they think of next?

    Dear Boffin,
On perusing your futuristic hyper diary (my my, that’s a mouthful…may I suggest FHD as a potential snappy name?) I was extremely upset to discover that I come at the bottom of your list of so called ‘friends’. Considering my long standing friednship and support of yuor new fangled hyperdiary I was thoroughly discouraged.

I think that I may need to talk to my MP. AGAIN!

    Dear Sulky,

Don’t you know that the bottom of the list is the position most favoured by top-level market researchers and unscrupulous politicians? In recent psychological tests, 8 out of 10 sexy women prefered men at the bottom of any given list. Tests have shown that blogs listed last get 7.8 times as many hits as other leading brands.

    Lots of love,

    –Your M.P.
